Skyline's Orientation

LH, Skyline, D02N

On July 29th and July 30th, 2025, Skyline Key Club was given the opportunity to volunteer giving tours of the school to new students at Skyline’s orientation. New parents and students were shown around Skyline High School’s campus, while Key Club members explained what days would be like in the upcoming school year. Not only did members introduce new faces of their own community to the campus, but they also introduced them to Key Club. A table introducing Key Club, along with Key Club-related items, helped members share their experiences with new students. A photo garland that hung on the table visualized memorable moments in Key Club for our members, and excited students. Members informed them about Key Club events, the benefits of joining Key Club, and, most importantly, the importance of helping others and community service! Some students were newly introduced to clubs, and had never heard of Key Club. Others, however, already had an idea or interest in it. One group of new students explained that they transferred to Skyline High School because their own high school, Oakland Charter High School, shut down, leading their Key Club to shut down as well. Through the connection of Key Club, these new students were able to feel comfortable in a new environment, and meet new people with similar interests.
